This month I had the honour of being named New Zealand CIO of the Year. While it’s an individual award, this recognition really belongs to the incredible people I have the privilege to work with every day.
I’ve been fortunate throughout my career to learn from inspiring colleagues from different countries, industries, and organisations. Each of them has helped shape my leadership and helped remind me that our greatest technology advantage is always our people.
To my team, many of whom were there to support me that night, thank you for your trust and dedication. These awards are only possible when the entire organisation aligns behind a common goal. My colleagues on the leadership team and the Contact Energy Ltd board have helped give our team the resources and support we’ve needed to become NZ tech leaders. Thank you to everyone at Contact.
And most important, to my wife Amanda. We moved here for this role knowing no one and have made a wonderful life. Who knows where in the world I’d be without you. To Amanda, Claire, and Frank, this is for you.
